At 4:40 AM, this morning while most people were safely sleeping in their beds, the Downingtown Fire Dept. volunteers were dispatched to an auto accident with entrapment on Quarry Rd. in East Caln Twp.
Assistant Chief 46 (Boyd) arrived on location, confirming one person was trapped in an SUV. The crews from Rescue 45 (Battalion Chief Trego) and Engine 46-2 (Minquas Fire Co. No. 2) stabilized the SUV after it collided with a dump truck. After stabilization, the team used the HURST Jaws of Life to extricate the one victim of the SUV. MICU-46 transported the victim to a trauma center.
