The Alert volunteers were busy throughout Friday afternoon and night responding to weather related emergencies due to a Nor’easter storm in our first due area. Engine 45 (Capt. K. Stevens) and Rescue 45 (Ass’t. Chief Wesson) were dispatched Friday evening to assist Station 49 (East Brandywine Fire Co.) at a house fire on Kelly Ann Drive. The crew from Engine 45 assisted with water supply to Ladder 49 and Rescue 45 returned to station after the fire was placed under control.
Shortly after the East Brandywine call, Engine 45 (Capt. K. Stevens) was dispatched to relocate to Station 51 (First West Chester Fire Co.). After investigating a trees and wires fire in the Station 51 first due area in East Bradford Twp., Engine 45 along with the other relocated companies were called into the scene to assist the West Chester Fire Dept. with the building fire at Market and Church Streets in West Chester Borough. The Engine 45 team worked with the salvage and overhaul crews until the fire was completely extinguished.
