Wow ! That's me with the white captains coat !! Curtains blowing from forced hot air heat landed on top of a hot kerosene stove started this fire !

Alert Fire Co. No. 1

At 9:54 AM today, the Downingtown Fire Dept. volunteers, in addition to Engine and Rescue 38 (Thorndale Fire Company and Clubroom), Engine and Tanker 39 (West Bradford Fire Co.), Engine and Ladder 49 (East Brandywine Fire Company) and Engine 51-1 (First West Chester Fire Co., Engine Co. 51) as the RIT were dispatched to J&L Creative Nails in the 100 block of E. Lancaster Ave.

It was determined that an unattended candle was left burning overnight and created a small fire and smoke condition inside of the building. The crews from Tower and Engine 45 checked for fire extension and ventilated.
